On the occasion of International Women's Day the Municipality of San Salvador has offered floral tribute and a poem to every woman who went to town. It is a symbolic gesture to renew the memory of the difficult path to claim the civil rights of women around the world and the need, again and again here today, a commitment that is translated into concrete actions to promote real equal opportunities.
In the belief that equality of opportunity between men and women are an essential prerequisite to social justice, namely, that there can be no gender equality without equality of economic and social conditions of departure, it is believed that at all levels should promote policies of gender equality that is a real declines by equalizing the right to work in priority and facilitating access to services. Consequently, the municipality of San Salvador continues to be its first priority the strengthening of the network of basic social services such as childcare, school meals, free school transport, elderly care and disabled, the other the creation of employment opportunities through innovative development policies.
